A PARENT-LED INITIATIVE FOR OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY
Parents in our school have partnered with Screen Sanity and Tin Can to launch Project Landline—a simple, kid-friendly initiative that helps families delay smartphones and avoid social media pressures.
Through this partnership and community support, we aim to provide a Tin Can phone to every household.
WHY WE BELIEVE IN THIS:
As parents, we play a critical role in protecting children in the digital world. Research shows that children with smartphones by age 12 face higher risks of depression, anxiety, sleep issues, and obesity. Smartphones and social media were not designed for developing brains, which are highly vulnerable to constant notifications and online pressures. Project Landline brings a safe alternative.
WHERE WE ARE NOW:
Project Landline is entering its early rollout phase with strong momentum. We are:
- Introducing the vision to families and community groups
- Building the resources and partnerships needed for implementation
- Preparing materials for broader distribution
Currently, we have raised nearly $5,250 toward our goal of $15,000 to fund Project Landline. Join us in reaching our goal.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
We invite families and donors to join us in advancing this initiative by:
- Sharing information within your networks
- Indicating your family’s interest and engagement by completing the opt-in form here
- Contributing financially to support the project’s implementation at screensanity.org/donate
All contributions must be made to Screen Sanity and will be restricted to the Project Landline initiative. Screen Sanity is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
